Shaanxi clothing quality pass rate 64.3%

Recently, the Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision released its findings from the second quarter of this year regarding the inspection of electric bicycles, clothing, and other consumer goods. The results revealed that 6% of electric bicycles failed due to issues like excessive speed or weight overload. Meanwhile, the pass rate for the physical quality of clothing was reported at 64.3%. Clothing: Be Aware of Fiber Content Issues A total of 89 batches of clothing samples were collected from distribution companies in Xi'an, Hanzhong, Ankang, Baoji, Xianyang, Yulin, and Shangluo. Out of these, 35 batches were found to be non-compliant, with 6 batches failing the quality check. This resulted in a physical quality pass rate of 64.3%. One of the major concerns in the textile industry is the discrepancy between the fiber content stated on labels and the actual composition. Some products had either higher or lower percentages of the listed materials, which can mislead consumers. Among the 35 unqualified batches, 20 (or 57.1%) failed due to incorrect fiber composition. Additionally, 17.1% of the non-compliant items had pH levels that exceeded safety standards. High pH values can irritate the skin and potentially lead to various dermatological issues. Another common problem was poor color fastness, which affected 8.6% of the non-compliant samples. Clothing with low color fastness tends to fade easily when exposed to water, sweat, or saliva. Furthermore, 11.4% of the不合格 products showed an excessive dimensional change rate after washing, meaning they shrank or stretched significantly. Lastly, 45.7% of the non-compliant items had issues with label accuracy, such as incorrect information or missing details. These findings highlight the importance of strict quality control in the textile industry and remind consumers to pay attention to product labels and certifications when making purchases. It also underscores the need for manufacturers to adhere to quality standards to ensure safe and reliable products for the public.
