Babe Yiyi children's clothing to carry out "care for children with disabilities to send warm" activities

December 3 marks the 18th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a global occasion to raise awareness and promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. On December 2, in Datian County, Wuyi County Youth League, and Beibei Yi Wuyi Children's Clothing collaborated to launch the "Caring for Children with Disabilities, Bringing Warmth" campaign. As part of the initiative, six brand-new winter outfits were donated to six primary school children who have disabled parents or are from families with disabilities, as well as three extremely poor children. The goal was to provide them with warmth and encouragement, reminding them to study hard and eventually contribute to society. "I'm really happy today! My aunt bought me new clothes!" said Xu Kaiyao, a 15-year-old girl who only reached the fifth grade this year. She has a physical disability, with deformed legs that make it difficult for her to walk. Her family has spent a lot on medical treatment, which has placed a heavy financial burden on them. To help with her education, she now studies alongside her younger brother, Xu Kaiyang, an 11-year-old student. When she received the new jacket, she couldn’t stop smiling. Xu Li, a teacher at Guchan Primary School in Wuyi County, shared with reporters that students with disabilities or from impoverished backgrounds often feel isolated and struggle with self-esteem. They need more support and care from their communities. One such child is Zhong Yiming, an 8-year-old boy who is usually well-behaved and performs well academically. However, he comes from a broken home—his parents divorced when he was young, and his mother suffers from mental illness. With no stable income, he was initially cared for by his grandfather, but the elder passed away last year. Since then, Zhong has been left to cope with his mother’s frequent episodes, which sometimes force him to skip school and even sleep on the streets rather than return home. Now, the school covers all his educational expenses and provides him with a place to stay on weekends. Lei Jianli, the manager of Beibei Yiyi Wuyi Store, told reporters that supporting disadvantaged groups is a core part of their mission. She hopes more people will join in showing compassion and helping those in need, especially children with disabilities. Through these efforts, they believe they can create a more inclusive and caring society.
