The cotton planting area in Pakistan has dropped significantly

According to statistics of the Pakistan Ginners Association, as of February 15th, the cumulative volume of new cotton was 2.399 million tons, an increase of 23.84% year-on-year. Domestic textile mills have already purchased 2.057 million tons, and exporters have purchased 136,000 tons. About 200,000 tons.

From January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013, Pakistan enjoys tax-free and unlimited preferential treatment for the EU exports of 65 kinds of textile products. The EU may extend this preferential measure by one year. EU member states are Pakistan’s major foreign trade partners. Pakistan’s exports to the EU account for 27.5% of its total exports, of which 60% are textiles, while imports from the EU also account for 17% of all imports, most of which are chemicals and machinery.
