Factors that affect fabric performance, you know? — Must read for textile industry

Different weaving patterns can be used to weave different patterns or different textures, such as the grain of the plain weave, the oblique lines of the twill weave, and the long lines of the satin weave.

In addition to affecting the appearance and texture of the fabric, the organization also affects the style of fabrics that people feel and the inherent quality of the fabric. Such as plain fabric texture firm; satin fabric cloth smooth, shiny, soft texture.

The density of a woven fabric refers to the number of arranged yarns per unit length of the fabric. Fabric density has a great influence on its performance such as strength, elasticity, feel, body bone, breathability and moisture permeability, and breakage during weaving. With a high density of warp and weft, fabrics appear dense, firm, stiff, wear-resistant, and firm, while fabrics with a small density are thin, fluffy, and have good permeability.

If the fabrics of the same density use different thickness of the warp and weft yarns, the actual density of the fabrics will be different. When comparing the tightness of different coarse yarns, the fineness and density of the warp and weft yarns must be taken into account. This is the tightness. The tightness is the relative density of the fabric, which is the diameter of the warp (weft) yarn and the adjacent two yarns. The ratio of the average center distance of warp (weft) yarn is expressed as a percentage. The warp and weft fabrics with too tight tightness increase in rigidity, decrease in crease resistance, increase flat wear resistance, decrease in grind resistance, and harden the handle plate; while the tightness is too small, the fabric is too loose, and the body is lacking.

It should be pointed out that the warp tightness, zonal tightness and total tightness of fabrics are mutually restricted; when the total tightness is fixed, the fabrics are the most compact and the rigidity is the greatest when the warp tightness and the weft tightness are approximately equal; The warp tightness is greater or less than the weft tightness, making the fabric soft and drape. The different values of the warp tightness and the zonal tightness also affect the warp and weft breaking strength of the fabric.
